Linn County, IOWA – According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred right after 9 p.m. late Saturday night.
It happened at Hwy 100 and Covington Rd.
Linn County Sheriff’s deputies, Linn County Rescue crews, Palo Fire Department crews and Area Ambulance personnel responded to a report of a crash involving a motorcycle.
The responding deputies discovered that the 41-year-old motorcyclist, later identified as Robert Oxendine, was riding his motorcycle westbound on Hwy 100 near Covington Rd when he struck a deer, lost control of his motorcycle and came to rest in the north ditch.
The 41-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, deputies said.
