Davenport, IOWA - According to the Davenport Fire Department, this incident occurred right after 2 p.m. Monday afternoon. It happened in the 1100 block of Pershing Avenue. Davenport Fire Department crews responded to a report of a structure fire. The responding crews discovered a very large fire on the front and side of the building with flames both on the interior and exterior. Crews quickly attempted to extinguish the fire with multiple hose lines from different directions. Due to the large amount of active fire present, multiple aerial apparatus were utilized to help with fire control from an elevated position. The structure is considered a total loss, officials said. No other information is available at the moment. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.  This is a developing story and it will be updated as new information become available.
