Davenport, IOWA - According to the city officials, Mayor Matson presented the Mayor's Community Excellence Award to Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities. City officials also said that the Habitat QC has served low-income families in Scott and Rock Island Counties for three decades by bringing people together to build, rehabilitate, and maintain safe and affordable homes. Since 1993, 125 homes have been completed with five currently under construction. Additionally, Habitat QC is embarking on full home renovations to four properties made possible by a relationship and partnership with the City of Davenport. Former Executive Director Kristi Crafton, who retired last month after 18 years, and current Executive Director Tom Fisher-King were present to accept the award, joined by several supporters.
