Linn County, IOWA – According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 4:21 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
It happened in the 4200 Block of Alice Road.
Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies, Linn County Rescue, Alburnett Fire and Center Point Ambulance responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash.
The responding deputies discovered that the 53-year-old driver of Ford Transit van, later identified as Todd Fox, was driving northbound when it slowed for slower traffic ahead of it.
The 26-year-old driver of Ford Edge, later identified as Becca Bell, was driving northbound as well and failed to observe the Ford Transit van slowing down and rear ended the vehicle causing both vehicles to enter the West ditch.
The 53-year-old man suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Bell was cited for Following too Closely and Failure to Wear Seatbelt, LCSO said.
This incident remains under investigation.
