Davenport, IOWA – According to the court documents, his name is Mark Blackwood and he was found not guilty of homicide in the death of a man he hit and dragged under his vehicle.
But, the 64-year-old defendant was found guilty of leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death.
The defendant reportedly told prosecutors that he knew he hit the victim, but did not prove he knew the victim was under the car when he kept driving.
The 64-year-old defendant hit 60-year-old Eric Johnson on Jan. 18.
The 60-year-old victim was dragged about 2,050 feet after the crash.
He was taken to a hospital for treatment, where he later died.
