Fayette County, IOWA – According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred right after 11 a.m. Thursday morning.
It happened on 200th St east of Acorn Rd.
Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash.
The responding deputies discovered that a 16-year-old driver was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Impala eastbound on 200th St when the driver lost control and entered the north ditch and struck a large rock.
The juvenile suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The vehicle is a total loss, deputies said.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Elgin Fire Dept, Gunderson Ambulance and Torkelson Motors.
The incident remains under investigation.
