The cell phone video, that was shared on social media, reportedly shows a high school student making a class presentation in which he uses a racial epithet and the n-word multiple times. The school district is now investigating the racist comments made during a class presentation on slavery at a local high school. Over the course of the video, the student uses a racial slur 7 times and the teacher did nothing to stop it. The superintendent calls for the teacher’s firing. Cedar Rapids, IOWA – According to the Cedar Rapids Police Department, this incident occurred right before 1 a.m. early Saturday morning. It happened on K Street Southwest. Cedar Rapids Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. When the officers arrived on scene, they found one victim. Police said the victim suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The victim’s age or identity have not yet been released. Linn County, IOWA – According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred right before 4 p.m. Wednesday. It happened on County Home Road east of North Troy Road. Linn County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a two-vehicle head-on collision. The responding deputies discovered that Volkswagen Jetta was traveling eastbound on County Home Road when it collided head-on with a Subaru Outback which was traveling westbound.  The 33-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Jetta suffered serious injuries and was flown to the University of Iowa Hospital by AirCare. Cedar Rapids Police Department officers responded to a report of a crash.
