Davenport, IOWA – According to the state officials, the Glenwood Resource Center reportedly provides residential care and other services for Iowans with intellectual and developmental disabilities.   Officials said that over the next 2 years, the the Glenwood Resource Center will continue to provide care for its residents while working with their guardians and families to transition them to community placements or the Woodward Resource Center. Public school teacher lost his job after he reportedly wrote message encouraging LGBTQ students on his classroom board. Per reports, the message read “You are free to be yourself with me.” The educator, who was a music teacher at the intermediate school, posted a photo of the message on his Facebook page. His message included a rainbow flag, a transgender flag and rainbow colors. Many parents believe the educator’s message was inappropriate. The 41-year-old mother strangled her 8-year-old son to death with her bare hands and then tried to drown her 11-year-old son in a bathtub because she thought that the Russian government was going to take her children and abuse them. After she killed her younger son and tried to drown his older brother, the mother tried to take her own life by stabbing herself in the chest. Davenport, IOWA – Davenport Police Department officials said the shots fired incident occurred around 8:41 p.m. Monday night.  It happened on Bridge Avenue. Davenport Police Department officers responded to a shots-fired call. When the officers arrived on scene, they discovered that several vehicles were struck by gunfire. Cedar Rapids, IOWA – According to the Cedar Rapids Fire Department, this unfortunate incident occurred around 11 a.m. Tuesday morning. It happened in the 300 block of 30th St SE. Cedar Rapids Fire Department crews responded to a report of a residential house fire. The responding crews discovered that the single occupant of the home at the time had safely escaped. The high school coach claims she was fired after she reportedly sent an email to the school district administrators about gender bullying and harassment of students in high school athletics. The volleyball coach, who also taught physical education, claims she was fired for speaking up about coaches harassing female students. Muscatine County, IOWA – According to the Iowa State Patrol, this unfortunate accident occurred right after 5 p.m. Friday afternoon. It happened at U.S. 6 and Bancroft Avenue. Iowa State Patrol troopers and Muscatine County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a crash. The responding officers discovered that two vehicles crashed at the location. One person suffered serious injuries and two others suffered minor injuries, ISP officials said. All three victims were taken to a hospital for treatment. Their identities have not yet been released.
