Davenport, IOWA – Police officials said that both suspects were arrested and taken into custody on Saturday. Monchay Russell, 22, and Leroy Owens, 58, are now facing multiple charges: second-degree burglary and second-degree arson. The charges stem from a January 5 incident during which both suspects reportedly forced entry into the garage and intentionally set the vehicle on fire. The female doctor, who is Black, claims she was discriminated against and denied service because of the color of her skin. The woman is now taking legal action against the bank. She reportedly went to the bank to open an account and deposit a check from her new job. Unfortunately, the staff ultimately denied her services.  The woman from Texas, Dr. Malika Mitchell-Stewart, says she went to Chase’s First Colony branch last December to open an account and deposit a $16,000 check from her new job. Linn County, IOWA – According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, this incident occurred around 12:53 p.m. Thursday. It happened at 2586 Springville Rd. Linn County firefighters responded to a report of a barn fire. The responding crews discovered that the fire had spread from the barn to some farm equipment and a nearby car.  They were able to quickly extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported from the fire and no livestock or people were inside the barn, LCSO said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. West Des Moines, IOWA – WDMPD officials said the 18-year-old student was arrested and taken into custody on Wednesday. His name is Evan Litt and he is now charged with stalking a person under the age of 18. The 18-year-old suspect was booked into the Polk County Jail. According to the court documents, the charge stems from multiple incidents that go back to November of 2020. Litt, student at Valley High School, reportedly engaged in repeated stalking behavior with the victim. He reportedly waited the victim to exit school and followed her to her car. Davenport, IOWA – According to the Davenport Police Department, the shooting occurred right before 9 a.m. Thursday. It happened in the 500 block of East 7th Street. Davenport Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. When the officers arrived on scene, they found one adult female victim. Police said the 32-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital by a private vehicle. No other information is available at the moment. Muscatine, IOWA – According to the Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office, the 46-year-old woman was charged on Wednesday. Her name is Stephanie Harrison and she is now charged with one count each of animal neglect causing serious injury, animal neglect causing injury and animal neglect. In January, deputies launched an investigation after receiving a complaint from It Takes A Village Animal Rescue and Resources in Muscatine. The 46-year-old woman was reportedly living in a camper on a property with dozens of dogs and one cat and that the camper was uninhabitable due to its condition. Two women have been taken into custody last week after two children, who were under their care, were living in deplorable living conditions. On inspecting the kids, officers reportedly found old and new dog bites and scratch all over their body. Their room had a deflated air mattress that was covered in feces and the children allegedly slept on that. The entire basement floor was covered with clothing, trash and animal feces.
