West Des Moines, IOWA – WDMPD officials said the 18-year-old student was arrested and taken into custody on Wednesday. His name is Evan Litt and he is now charged with stalking a person under the age of 18. The 18-year-old suspect was booked into the Polk County Jail. According to the court documents, the charge stems from multiple incidents that go back to November of 2020. Davenport, IOWA – According to the Davenport Police Department, the shooting occurred right before 9 a.m. Thursday. It happened in the 500 block of East 7th Street. Davenport Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. When the officers arrived on scene, they found one adult female victim. Police said the 32-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital by a private vehicle. No other information is available at the moment. Muscatine, IOWA – According to the Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office, the 46-year-old woman was charged on Wednesday. Her name is Stephanie Harrison and she is now charged with one count each of animal neglect causing serious injury, animal neglect causing injury and animal neglect. In January, deputies launched an investigation after receiving a complaint from It Takes A Village Animal Rescue and Resources in Muscatine. The 46-year-old woman was reportedly living in a camper on a property with dozens of dogs and one cat and that the camper was uninhabitable due to its condition. Two women have been taken into custody last week after two children, who were under their care, were living in deplorable living conditions. On inspecting the kids, officers reportedly found old and new dog bites and scratch all over their body. Their room had a deflated air mattress that was covered in feces and the children allegedly slept on that. The entire basement floor was covered with clothing, trash and animal feces. A brave police officer put herself in harm’s way to protect a young student from an oncoming car. The dramatic display of courage unfolded on Friday when the officer was helping children cross the street to get to school. Davenport, IOWA – According to the health officials, the deaths were reported to the state between Oct. 21 and Feb. 2. The Iowa Department of Public Health reported 11,557 new COVID-19 cases in the last seven days, down from 13,744 on Monday. The state’s 14-day positivity rate dropped from 17% to 15.9%. Cedar Rapids, IOWA – According to the Cedar Rapids Fire Department, this unfortunate incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. Tuesday. It happened in the 1500 block of E Avenue. Cedar Rapids Fire Department crews responded to a report of a house fire. The responding crews saw flames and smoke coming out of the home. They were not able to stop flames from heavily damaging the home. No one was injured in this incident, CRFD officials said. One of the residents dialed 911 after discovering fire outside. Bremer County, IOWA – Iowa State Patrol officials said the accident occurred around 8:51 a.m. Tuesday. It happened on Highway 63. Iowa State Patrol troopers responded to a report of a crash. The responding troopers discovered that the 43-year-old driver of Dodge Caravan crashed into the rear end of a Freightliner tractor trailer. The tractor trailer had slowed down due to crossing traffic from Bremer County Road C33, ISP officials said.
