Davenport, IOWA – According to the Davenport Fire Department, this unfortunate incident occurred right before 9 a.m. Friday morning.
It happened in the 1500 block of W. 14th St.
Davenport Fire Department crews responded to a report of a residential structure fire.
The responding crews discovered that there was moderate smoke emitting from multiple sides of the home and flames were seen exiting through a rear window.
An aggressive fire attack and coordinated support functions resulted in a quick knock down of the fire.
Officials said that extensive fire damage was noted in the kitchen and moderate smoke damage throughout the home.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
