Fayette County, IOWA – According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, this unfortunate accident occurred around 7:50 a.m. Tuesday.
It happened on Highway 187.
Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a crash.
The responding deputies discovered that a Starmont school bus was reportedly slowing down due to a vehicle that had broken down on the side of the road.
A vehicle then rear-ended the bus, deputies said.
The Starmont school bus carrying more than 40 students, but no injuries were reported.
The occupants of the vehicle suffered injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Arlington Fire Department and Arlington Ambulance.
This incident remains under investigation.
