Davenport, IA – According to the police officials, his name is Drake Coy and he faces two felony charges of serious injury by a vehicle, and misdemeanor charges of driving under suspension, having no insurance and reckless driving.
This incident happened on Oct. 2, 2020. Officers responded to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Division and West 3rd streets.
The passenger sustained serious injuries, broken bones, internal injuries, requiring advanced care and treatment.
Coy denied driving the vehicle, but witnesses at the scene identified him as getting out of the driver’s door after the crash.
He was being held Sunday in Scott County Jail on $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear Thursday in Scott County Court.
