Linn County, IOWA – According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, this unfortunate accident occurred right before 11 p.m. late Saturday night.
It happened at the intersection of Highway 13 and County Home Rd.
Linn County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a crash.
The responding deputies discovered that two vehicles crashed at the location.
Deputies said a 22-year-old driver reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign while driving southbound on Highway 13 and struck a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on County Home Road.
He was later identified as David Antonowicz.
Deputies said the 22-year-old driver is now facing multiple charges, including: operating while intoxicated and failure to obey a traffic control device.
The 70-year-old driver of the other vehicle suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
He was later identified as David Lam.
This incident remains under investigation.
