Linn County, IOWA – According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 6:51 p.m. Saturday.
It happened at 8300 Ely Road.
Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies, Linn County Sheriff’s Rescue, Ely Fire Department, Area Ambulance, and Lifeguard Air Ambulance responded to a report of a single vehicle crash.
The responding officers and crews reportedly discovered that Chevrolet Malibu was going north on Ely Road and lost control.
The vehicle went into the west ditch and into the farmyard.
The vehicle then crashed into a piece of farm equipment parked in the farmyard.
The 19-year-old driver of the vehicle, later identified as Immaculee Mwamikazi, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The 17-year-old passenger, later identified as Sara Masoyinyana, also suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Both occupants of the vehicle were wearing their seat belts.
This incident remains under investigation.
