The YWCA is getting almost $600,000 to go toward the organization's demolition and site preparation

Davenport, IA – According to the officials, this is a part of an $11 million investment through the state’s “Rebuild Illinois” project which pumps money into economic development projects across the state.

The money was distributed to projects that need a lot of money upfront in order to get started.

The organization will use these funds to help continue building its new Rock Island location.

The new facility is being built downtown Rock Island, on the site of the Old Zimmerman Honda building on 5th Avenue.
