Monroe County, IOWA – According to the Iowa State Patrol, this unfortunate incident occurred right after 1 p.m. Saturday.
It happened on 148th Street in Eddyville.
Iowa State Patrol troopers responded to a report of a crash.
The victim’s father told authorities that while he was leaving his home and backing out of his driveway, he did not see his 1-year-old son leave the residence.
The car then hit the toddler while backing out of the driveway.
Unfortunately, the 1-year-old child was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was later identified as Trevor Lane Gordon.
This incident remains under investigation.
