Davenport, IOWA – Davenport Fire Department officials said this incident occurred right after 8 p.m. Thursday night.
It happened on W. 17th Street.
Davenport Fire Department crews responded to a report of a structure fire.
DFD officials said that 5 fire apparatus and one command vehicle responded to the scene.
Scott Emergency Communications Center received multiple 911 calls advising of a house that had an abundance of smoke coming from the attic, one of the calls were noted to be from the affected resident as well.
When the responding crews arrived on scene, they saw heavy smoke coming from the attic windows and roof eaves.
An aggressive interior attack and coordinated support functions resulted in a quick knock down and subsequent control of the fire.
According to the Davenport Fire Department, heavy damage was noted on the second floor and attic of the interior.
No one was injured in this incident, officials said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
