Harrison County, IOWA – According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash occurred on Tuesday.
It happened on Interstate 29 in Harrison County.
Iowa State Patrol officials said a pursuit ended with a car on fire in the ditch and a driver taken directly to jail.
The responding troopers said the crash occurred when a driver tried to elude troopers on Interstate 29.
ISP said the unidentified driver continued to drive on their flat tires which caused their vehicle to catch fire.
The responding troopers helped pull the driver out of the burning vehicle and took them to jail.
The Iowa State Patrol released the following statement:
“This driver was fortunate to not have injuries after deciding to elude Troopers on I-29 in Harrison County. Troopers safely & successfully deployed stop sticks. The driver continued to drive on their flat tires which caused their vehicle to catch fire.
Troopers helped get the driver out and drove them DIRECTLY TO JAIL.”
