Harrison County, IOWA – According to the Iowa Department of Public Safety, the teacher was arrested and taken into custody on Friday.

His name is Benjamin Work and he is now charged with five counts of S–ual Exploitation by a School Employee, five counts of Lascivious Conduct with a Minor and two counts of Indecent Contact with a Child, Iowa DPS said.

In April, 2022, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible inappropriate relationship between former West Harrison School Teacher Benjamin Work and a minor student.

Authorities initiated an investigation into the allegation and the teacher was placed on administrative leave.

Investigators reportedly identified six minor students that the teacher had reportedly had inappropriate contact with between the fall of 2021 and spring of 2022.

On June 3, 2022, the teacher resigned from the West Harrison Community School District.

Work was booked into the Harrison County Correctional Facility.

This is a developing story and it will be updated as new information become available.
