Muscatine, IOWA – According to the city officials, the Muscatine Parks and Recreation staff have spent the last few days filling the pool, testing water chemistry and training. The opening day is scheduled for Saturday, May 28, from 12 to 8 p.m., officials said. Unfortunately, the Muscatine Aquatic Center will be closed on Sunday, May 29, due to the Melon City Criterium taking place in Weed Park. Davenport, IOWA – According to the state officials, the governor’s order is issued in conjunction with President Biden’s proclamation to lower all United States  flags  to  half-staff  for the same length of time.   Flags will be at half-staff on the State Capitol Building and on flag displays in the Capitol Complex. Flags will also be half-staff on all public buildings, grounds and facilities throughout the state.  Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties, and other government subdivisions are encouraged to fly the flags at half-staff for the same length of time. Davenport, IOWA – According to the Davenport Police Department, the shooting occurred right before 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. It happened at 2130 Emerald Drive. Davenport Police Department officers responded to a report of shots fired with one person injured by gunfire. The responding officers found one adult male victim. Police said the 26-year-old victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The victim’s identity has not yet been released. No other injuries were reported. The unfortunate mother, who lost her baby son after the boy reportedly choked on his necklace during nap time at a day care centre, is warning other parents about child teething necklaces. Danielle said that her son was found unconscious at the nursery after he had been strangled by a teething necklace while he was sleeping. Muscatine, IOWA – According to the city officials, the rating is for the $6.19 million General Obligation Corporate Purpose Bonds, Series 2022. City officials have announced that the Series 2022 bond issue will be used to fund a variety of City projects that have recently been completed, are currently underway, or will be underway in calendar years 2022 and 2023. Officials also said that the projects and the proposed bond issue were reviewed with City Council during the budget sessions in January and February. Davenport, IOWA – According to the Davenport Police Department officials, the shooting occurred right after 7 p.m. Saturday evening. It happened in the parking lot of Castlewood Apartments located at 2130 Emerald Drive. Davenport Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. When the officers arrived on scene, they found one adult male victim. Police said the 26-year-old victim suffered a life threatening gunshot wound and was transported by Medic EMS to the hospital for medical treatment.
