Davenport, IA – Unfortunately, the Iowa Department of Public Health also reported 26 additional COVID-19 related deaths. There were 329,812 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Iowa, and 364,150 people in Iowa had received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. There are now more Iowans who have received their first vaccination against COVID-19 than have been confirmed to have had the disease. With the expansion of priority groups in Iowa, more people are eligible to get COVID-19 vaccinations, including all Iowans age 65 or older, and people in certain professions.

IOWA – According to the police report, Wright County deputies responded to a call at 5:42 a.m. to the Prestage Foods plant near Eagle Grove for a report of a stabbing. When the deputies arrived at the scene, they found a dead person in an employee locker room and then identified a suspect, who was taken into custody. Davenport, IA – His name is David Michael Woods, 48-year-old, of Davenport. He allegedly committed sexual abuse against a 12-year-old. According to the court documents, the abuse reportedly happened multiple times between November 2020 and January 2021. David Michael Woods was booked into the Scott County Jail. He was released after posting a $50,000 cash-only bond. Third-degree sexual abuse is a Class C felony under Iowa law that carries a prison sentence of 10 years.

The 24-year-old was charged with first-degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree sexual assault, and physical abuse of a child. The authorities responded to the family’s home following reports of a possible sex crime, according to police press release. Medrano’s father and stepmother were found deceased in the home. A 15-year-old girl at the house later told investigators Medrano had barged into her room with a machete earlier that morning and began strangling her. He also brought a pair of socks to muzzle her with, the complaint alleged. Medrano’s father eventually rushed into the bedroom, confronted his son, and was stabbed to death, police said.…

Davenport, IA – The IDPH reported that there are now more people in Iowa who have received at least one COVID-19 vaccination dose than the number who have been infected by the coronavirus. More than 487,000 people had received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. The state’s online virus-tracking dashboard showed more than 356,000 cases had been confirmed in the state. Hospitalizations for the virus in Iowa have ticked up in recent days, with 40 people admitted to Iowa hospitals in the last day.

His name is Mark Howard and he was being held on $10,600 total bond in Scott County Jail.
