Linn County, IOWA – According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, this incident occurred right before 2 p.m. Saturday. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office, the Linn County Sheriff’s Rescue 57, Central City Fire Department, Center Point Ambulance Service and Linn County Conversation Officers responded to the report of a missing female tubing on the Wapsipinicon River. Black mother claims the young white boy was caught on video pounding on their door with a whip looking for their 9 year old daughter. The boy, who was not identified due to his age, then puts a big scratch on the family’s vehicle. When her husband got home, they both went to talk to to the boy’s father about the damages done to their vehicle. The dad reportedly told them that his son is not home. Muscatine, IOWA – According to the city officials, the work on Houser Street will continue as the contractor repairs the broken pavement in multiple phases to minimize traffic control issues. City officials also said that the duration of work is weather dependent. The 2021-2022 Full-Depth Patching Project had a late start due to funding concerns that pushed the bid process into the fall. The $440,800 contract was awarded to Heuer Construction on October 5, 2021, but actual work was delayed until April due to weather and logistic concerns. Linn County, IOWA – According to the LCSO officials, the unidentified male inmate was reportedly found unconscious and unresponsive in his cell. The inmate was found by a deputy at the Linn County Correctional Center at approximately 8:20 p.m. Saturday. LCSO said that a medical emergency was declared at the Correctional Center using radios and additional jail staff responded to the cellblock. Upon their arrival, they discovered that the inmate was pulseless and breathless, and staff began CPR and connected him to an AED.  Additional medical support was requested and provided by paramedics from Area Ambulance Service. Durant, IOWA – According to the Iowa State Patrol, the fatal crash occurred right after 7 a.m. Friday morning. It happened on Vail Ave at the railroad tracks. Iowa State Patrol troopers responded to a report of a crash. The responding troopers discovered that the truck driver was crossing the railroad tracks when the train hit the truck. The truck driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver’s age or identity have not yet been released. No other information is available at the moment. Davenport, IOWA – According to the statement, the Iowa State Patrol’s Sergeant Jim Smith and Trooper Ted Benda, who lost their lives in the line of duty in 2021, will be honored at the national Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony.  State officials said that flags will be at half-staff on the State Capitol Building and on flag displays in the Capitol Complex.
