Johnston, IOWA – According to the Johnston Police Department, this unfortunate incident occurred right after 5 p.m. Monday afternoon. It happened at 5350 Merle Hay Rd. Johnston Police Department officers responded to a report of a stabbing. The responding officers found one victim. Police said the victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead. Johnston Police Department officials said 55-year-old suspect was arrested and taken into custody. Davenport, IOWA – According to the statement, Governor Reynolds issued a disaster proclamation for nine additional counties in response to the March 5 severe weather.  State officials said the proclamation allows state resources to be utilized to respond to and recover from the effects of this severe weather in Adair, Benton, Decatur, Jasper, Lucas, Polk, Tama, Warren, and Wayne counties.  The proclamation activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program for qualifying residents, along with the Disaster Case Management Program, for the aforementioned nine counties, as well as Madison County. Davenport, IOWA – According to the police officials, the 36-year-old suspect was arrested and taken into custody early Sunday morning. His name is Zackary Lacy and he is now facing multiple charges, including: eluding; possession of controlled substance second offense and operating under the influence. The police chase started right after 2 a.m. early Sunday morning. Davenport, IOWA – According to the court documents, the 33-year-old defendant was found guilty Thursday, court records say. His name is Bobby Hunt Jr. and he was found guilty of homicide by vehicle-operating under the influence, homicide by vehicle-reckless driving, operating while under the influence third offense and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. Prosecutors said Hunt Jr. will be sentenced on May 11. This unfortunate accident occurred on June 3, 2021. It happened near the intersection of Kimberly Road and Davenport Avenue. Des Moines, IOWA – According to the Des Moines Police Department, the shooting occurred around 2:52 p.m. Monday. It happened outside of East High School. Des Moines Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. When the officers arrived on scene, they found 3 victims. Police said that the 15-year-old boy and two girls, 18 and 16, suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment. Cedar Falls, IOWA – According to the court documents, the 20-year-old defendant has been convicted of first degree murder and first degree robbery. His name is Keyon Roby and he was convicted on Friday, prosecutors said. According to the court documents, the 20-year-old defendant, along with two other accomplices, entered the victim’s apartment on December 4th, 2019. The 24-year-old victim was reportedly shot three times by the defendant. Muscatine, IOWA – According to the city officials, all grave decorations were to be removed by Monday, March 14, 2022, according to cemetery staff. Remaining grave decorations will be removed and discarded by cemetery staff after that date. City officials have announced that grave decorations include, but are not limited to, wreaths, silk flowers, grave blankets, wooden crosses, toys, cobblestones, and potted plants. Undecorated metal shepherd’s hooks and Remembrance Vigil Candles and Solar Lights will not be removed. Dubuque County, IOWA – DCSO said the 47-year-old inmate was reportedly found unresponsive in his jail cell Friday. His name is Virgil Polkinghorn Jr. and he was taken to a hospital, where he later died. According to the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and a nurse reportedly performed CPR and used a portable defibrillator.  The 47-year-old inmate was being held on a $1,000 cash bond for a misdemeanor assault charge.
