Des Moines, IOWA – According to the Des Moines Police Department, the shooting occurred around 9:09 p.m. Thursday night. It happened on Walker Street. Des Moines Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. When the officers arrived on scene, they found one adult male victim. Police said the 34-year-old victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital, where he later died. The victim’s identity has not yet been released. Bettendorf, IOWA – According to the Bettendorf Police Department, the 40-year-old suspect was arrested and taken into custody on Tuesday. His name is Shaun Powell and he faces multiple charges, including: controlled-substance violation, failure to affix a drug stamp and control of a firearm by a felon. The 40-year-old suspect was arrested following traffic stop. The responding officer reportedly found 10 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale and a gun.  Powell reportedly admitted he traded a heater for a gun on Facebook Marketplace. Davenport, IOWA – According to the Davenport Police Department, this unfortunate accident occurred right before 3 p.m. Thursday. It happened on East Kimberly Road. Davenport Police Department officers responded to a report of a crash. The responding officers discovered that vehicle and motorcycle crashed at the location. The 65-year-old motorcyclist attempted to turn north into the Harbor Freight parking lot when it failed to yield to oncoming traffic. He was struck by a westbound Chevrolet Silverado, police officials said. The 65-year-old motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. No charges have been filed. Des Moines County, IOWA – According to the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office, this unfortunate incident occurred around 5:09 p.m. Monday. It happened in rural Mediapolis. The responding deputies and first responders reportedly found two victims. The first responders found 69-year-old Michael Vaughn clinging to the ice and pulled him to safety. They pulled 71-year-old Patrick Vaughn from the water after about 90 minutes of searching. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead. Des Moines, IOWA – According to the police officials, the 20-year-old suspect was arrested and taken into custody on Tuesday. His name is Raevon Teel and he is now charged with two counts of aggravated animal neglect. According to reports, two dogs were reportedly found locked inside their kennels inside an abandoned apartment with no food or water. Officials said that the dogs would have died within hours if they have not been rescued. His name is Demetrius Howard Jr. and he is now charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. Prosecutors said the suspect reportedly shot the 25-year-old victim after a fight. The victim was later identified as Corey Martin. This unfortunate incident occurred on N. Pine Street.
