Davenport Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. When the officers arrived on scene, they discovered that there was property damage at the scene. Davenport, IOWA – According to the state officials, the grants would go to the following projects: Dyersville East Road Utilities Project, ICON Water Trails Project, and Lewis & Clark Regional Water System project. The Dyersville East Road Utilities Project would be awarded $11 million for water distribution and wastewater collection infrastructure. The ICON Water Trails Project in Des Moines would be awarded $15 million in order to mitigate the dam on Fleur Drive. In a bizarre incident, the 49-year-old woman allegedly told a woman at Walmart that she wanted to buy her son. It all began when she allegedly approached the other woman in the self-checkout line at Walmart where her 1-year-old son was seated in the cart.  According to reports, the woman from Texas, Rebecca Lanette Taylor, allegedly asked if she could purchase the smallest of the woman’s two children for $250,000. Bernard, IOWA – According to the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office, this unfortunate incident occurred right after 2 p.m. Thursday. It happened at 159 Laban Road. Bernard Fire and EMS, Farley Fire Department and Cascade Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire. The responding crews discovered that a barn and several pieces of farm equipment had sustained damage from the fire. They were able to quickly extinguish the blaze. Cedar Rapids, IOWA – According to the Cedar Rapids Police Department, the shooting occurred right before 3 p.m. Thursday. It happened in the 300 block of 31st Street Drive SE. Cedar Rapids Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. The responding officers found one male victim. Police said the victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s age or identity have not yet been released. The 20-year-old man is now facing a felony charge of control of a firearm by a felon and an aggravated misdemeanor charge of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon.
