Davenport, IOWA – According to the Davenport Fire Department, this unfortunate incident occurred right after 10 p.m. Thursday. It happened in the 4300 block of S. Concord St. Davenport Fire Department crews responded to a report of a structure fire. The responding crews saw fire coming through the second-story roof. They were able to quickly extinguish the blaze. No one was injured in this incident. Davenport, IOWA – According to the statement, all individuals 12 and up who received the primary two doses and waited at least 5 months after their second dose, can get the booster. Hy-Vee made the announcement on Friday. Health officials said that individuals in the 5 to 11 age range who are moderately to severely immunocompromised may receive the third dose of the Pediatric Pfizer vaccine at least 28 days after the second dose. Washington County, IOWA – According to the Washington Police Department, the shooting occurred around 8:10 p.m. Friday. It happened in the 600 block of West Adams Street. Washington Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. The responding officers found the victim in a vehicle.  The victim suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The extent of the victim’s injuries is unknown at this time. The one-month-old son of two sheriff’s deputies has been left orphaned after both of his parents died by suicide within days of each other. Both were joy-filled, first-time parents excited about their growing family, enamored with their baby and so in love with each other. Tragically, for reasons completely unknown and totally out of character, the 24-year-old man took his own life December 31st, 2021. Anamosa, IOWA – According to the Iowa State Patrol, this unfortunate accident occurred around 5:27 p.m. Tuesday. It happened in the area of Iowa Highway 64 and 140th Avenue. Toyota Corolla traveling on Iowa Highway 64 and 140 Avenue in rural Anamosa crossed the highway into oncoming traffic and struck a Jeep Cherokee nearly head-on The name of the Corolla driver, who was killed, and the Jeep driver, who was injured, haven’t been released by authorities. Des Moines, IOWA – According to the Des Moines Police Department, this unfortunate incident occurred on Nov. 27.  It happened at a restaurant in the 1200 block on East Euclid Avenue. Cedar Rapids, IOWA – According to the statement, the awards include grants to support organizations and programs, as well as distributions from donor-advised, designated, scholarship and agency funds. Officials have announced that this includes a $200,000 grant from the Creating Safe, Equitable and Thriving Communities Fund. This grant will support the implementation of Group Violence Intervention strategies in Cedar Rapids. In 2021, the Community Foundation distributed over $13.9 million in grants. According to reports, the 82-year-old woman decided to get together with friends to play cards and asked everyone beforehand if they were vaccinated. One attendee allegedly failed to disclose were sick with COVID-19. She reportedly died of Coronavirus after contracting the illness from an infected friend who hid their diagnosis. The 82-year-old woman from Ohio, Barb Bartolovich, is a blood cancer survivor. She was reportedly vaccinated and took the necessary precautions, including only socializing with like-minded people amid the pandemic, according to reports.
