Scott County, IOWA – According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, his name is Shane Bostrom and he is charged with first-degree murder in the June 10 shooting death of 28-year-old Jessica Bostrom. On June 10, Eldridge Police Department officers, Scott County Sheriff’s deputies and Iowa State Patrol troopers responded to the 300 block of West Davenport Street on a report of a shooting. The responding officers found the 28-year-old victim in the residence. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Davenport, IOWA – According to the Davenport Fire Department, this unfortunate incident occurred right before 11 p.m. Sunday. It happened in the 4500 block of South Concord Street. Davenport Fire Department crews responded to a report of a structure fire. The callers informed there was smoke and fire showing from the building. The responding crews said that the building was vacant, but no occupants were on scene. The fire was fought from the exterior due to fire and building conditions, officials said. West Des Moines, IOWA – According to the court documents, his name is Jon Schwartz and he was sentenced to 5 years in prison. Prosecutors said the 62-year-old defendant was found guilty of causing serious injury by vehicle in November 2020. The defendant was drunk, speeding and watching a movie when he plowed into Officer Kaufman. Prosecutors said the WDMPD officer was standing next to a vehicle he had stopped along Interstate 35. According to the court documents, the 47-year-old woman from Texas is now charged with the death of a 38-year-old woman from Missouri. Prosecutors said the mother of three died after receiving an illegal silicone injection. The suspect reportedly admitted to injecting the silicone and said that she is not licensed to perform the procedure. She also said that she knew the risks of conducting the procedure incorrectly, prosecutors said. According to the police officials, the 5-year-old girl was shot and killed by her 3-year-old cousin on Thursday. Authorities said the 3-year-old reportedly found a loaded gun that had been left sitting on a chair in the family’s apartment . The 3-year-old boy shot the victim in the chest, police said. Coralville, IOWA – Coralville Fire Department crews responded to a report of a vehicle fire inside of an attached garage right after 12 p.m. Saturday. This incident occurred at 924 23rd Avenue. The responding crews saw flames and smoke coming from the attached garage. They were able to quickly extinguish the fire. The fire damage was contained to the vehicle and garage area with smoke damage throughout the rest of the townhouse. The responding crews remained on the scene until 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Davenport, IOWA – According to the police officials, his name is Kalandis Rashird McNeil Sr. and he was arrested on Wednesday. The 34-year-old suspect is charged with first-degree robbery. Authorities said McNeil was being held Saturday night in the Scott County Jail on a cash-only bond of $25,000.  Right before 2 a.m. Wednesday, the 34-year-old suspect followed a woman to the parking lot of the Rhythm City Casino after watching her use a voucher to cash out.
