Des Moines, IOWA – According to the Des Moines Police Department, his name is Quarian Deonte Moore and he was arrested on Thursday. Police said the 17-year-old suspect is now charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 18-year-old Dean Titus Deng. This unfortunate incident occurred on Nov. 14.  Police said the 18-year-old victim was found in a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Deng was taken to a hospital where he later died. This story will be updated as new information become available. 

According to the police officials, the body of an autistic 8-year-old who had been missing since Sunday was found on Tuesday morning. The 27-year-old mother and her 29-year-old partner are now charged with murder, cruelty to children and other charges. It is not yet clear how long the child’s body had been at the site where it was found, or whether she was killed there or died elsewhere and her body was just dumped at that site. Prosecutors said the 35-year-old mother is now charged with first-degree manslaughter and risk of injury to a child after authorities say she killed her newborn son. The woman reportedly admitted smothering her 1-month-old baby for 20 minutes until he was dead. The mom told authorities that she killed her newborn baby because the 1-month-old boy and his 5-year-old sibling were crying, and “she was stressed out about having a new and unwanted baby in the house. Marion, IOWA – According to the Marion Police Department, this unfortunate incident occurred right before 11 a.m. Tuesday. It happened in the 2900 block of Indian Creek road. Marion Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. The responding officers made contact with an adult male who had pulled into the Indian Creek Elementary School parking lot. He told the officers that his vehicle was struck by gunfire. Police said the victim declined medical treatment. This incident remains under investigation. Cedar Rapids, IOWA – His name is Cody Adkins and he is now charged with multiple charges: attempted murder, intimidation with a dangerous weapon, willful injury causing serious injury, going armed with intent and use of a dangerous weapon in the commission of a crime. The shooting occurred on July 1, 2021. It happened in the 1200 block of 10th Street Northwest. Cedar Rapids Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. Davenport, IOWA – According to the Davenport Police Department, his name is Robert Anthony Ceresoli and he faces the following charges: felon in possession of a firearm and assault while displaying a weapon. This incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. Monday. It happened in the area of East 11th and Mound streets. Davenport Police Department officers responded to a report of a disturbance.  The responding officers discovered that the 35-year-old suspect was arguing with the victims when he retrieved a gun from his residence and chased the victims down an alley. According to the court documents, the 22-year-old suspect is accused of killing his 7-year-old niece and his 42-year-old neighbor. Authorities said he accidentally shot the girl as he confronted his 42-year-old neighbor, then shot him to death with a handgun he was prohibited from possessing because he is a convicted felon. According to the police officials, the 22-year-old suspect was arrested on Friday. Police said he killed a man and his wife and stabbed a police officer after he tried to take him into custody. The suspect ran toward the officer and stabbed him repeatedly in the back and neck. A second officer shot the suspect in an attempt to stop the stabbing.
