CRPD investigating early Saturday morning shooting, one person injured

Cedar Rapids, IOWA – According to the Cedar Rapids Police Department, this incident occurred right before 1 a.m. early Saturday morning.

It happened at 4342 16th Ave. SW.

Cedar Rapids Police Department officers responded to a shooting call.

When the officers arrived on scene, they found blood in the parking lot.

Police say they didn’t find any victims. 

Around 3:15 a.m., the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics reported a 19-year old male victim arrived the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The victim allegedly told he was shot while leaving a party in Cedar Rapids.

The 19-year old man didn’t want to talk with officers.
