Des Moines, IOWA – According to the court documents, his name is Chad Williams and he pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm as an unlawful drug user and making a destructive device.
The 37-year-old defendant pleaded guilty on Thursday.
Prosecutors said the defendant reportedly admitted that he planted the homemade explosives in Ankeny last year.
Two detonated as planned and the third was found intact by an 8-year-old girl.
No one was injured in this incident, prosecutors said.
The 37-year-old defendant is now facing up to 10 years in prison on each count.
Williams will be sentenced in May, court records say.
