Buchanan County, IOWA – According to the Iowa State Patrol, this unfortunate accident occurred right before 3 p.m. Monday.
It happened on Highway 150, south of Hazleton.
Iowa State Patrol troopers responded to a report of a crash.
40-year-old driver with Mercury Grand Marquis was traveling southbound. The driver crossed the center line and collided with Toyota Sienna head-on.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
They were later identified as 40-year-old Nicholas Johnson and 70-year-old John Friend.
Troopers say a third person suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
This incident remains under investigation.
