Davenport, IA – According to the court documents, his name is Charlie Gary and he was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Robert Long in January 2020.
Officials say that the 20-year-old man was also convicted of robbery, burglary and abuse of a corpse.
Prosecutors say the defendant strangled the 74-year-old man and abused his body before stealing the car and other items.
Gary was arrested driving the victim’s car the day after the victim’s body was found.
