The intersection of West 8th and Lucas streets will be closed to all traffic beginning Monday as part of Phase 5 of the West Hill Sanitary and Storm Sewer Separation Project

Muscatine, IOWA – According to the city officials, the full closure will last approximately six weeks depending on the weather.

Officials have announced that limited access will be permitted on Lucas Street from Main Street on the east side of the intersection and from Busch Street on the west side.

According to the statement, limited access will also be permitted on West 8th Street from Broadway to the Lucas Street intersection and from Main Street to the Lucas Street intersection.

The Whicher intersection will remain open, officials said. 

General contractor, Haggerty Earthworks, plans to close Climer Street from West 8th to High starting on Wednesday (April 6).

Local traffic only will be permitted as sanitary and storm sewer separation work begins on this segment of Phase 5.
