The man accused in the death of 10-year-old Iowa girl appeared in court for the first time on murder and kidnapping charges

Davenport, IA – According to the statement, charges were announced against Henry Dinkins on Wednesday.  

Before that he had been considered a person of interest in the case and had been incarcerated on unrelated charges. He is the father of Breasia’s half-brother.

On July 9, the 10-year-old girl spent the night with her brother, at Dinkins’ Davenport apartment.  Her brother came home the next morning, but Breasia did not. Her body was found in Clinton County in March.

When the remains were identified to be Breasia, her disappearance had been investigated as a homicide.

Scott County Attorney Mike Walton said that Dinkins shot and killed Breasia.  

Dinkins is currently being held without bond.
