Clinton County, IOWA – According to the Iowa State Patrol, the fatal accident occurred around 4:51 p.m. Wednesday.
It happened on Highway 136.
Iowa State Patrol troopers responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash.
The responding troopers discovered that a vehicle headed west on Highway 136 collided head-on with a minivan headed east on the same highway.
The responding troopers said that the drivers of both vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two passengers in the minivan also died.
A third passenger in the minivan suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The victims’ age or identities have not yet been released.
