Bettendorf, IOWA – According to the Bettendorf Police Department, his name is Eric Willemarck and he was arrested on Sunday.
The 42-year-old man is now charged with first-degree robbery and third-degree theft after he reportedly attempted to to steal angle grinder from the Home Depot and pulled a knife on the store employee.
This incident occurred right before 8 p.m. Sunday.
It happened at Home Depot located at 920 Middle Road.
The responding officers discovered that the employee had reportedly seen the suspect concealing a Dewalt angle grinder and when the employee confronted him, the 42-year-old man pulled a box cutter-razor knife.
During an interview with investigators, the 42-year-old man reportedly admitted to taking the tool and pulling the knife out.
This incident remains under investigation.
