Davenport, IOWA – According to the statement, Cpl. Kenneth Ford was reported missing in action during the Korean War on December 2, 1950. He was accounted for in September of 2019 through DNA analysis. Cpl. Ford is now returning home to Albia for burial, state officials said. Cpl. Fayette County, IOWA – According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred right after 11 a.m. Thursday morning. It happened on 200th St east of Acorn Rd. Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash. The responding deputies discovered that a 16-year-old driver was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Impala eastbound on 200th St when the driver lost control and entered the north ditch and struck a large rock. Parents of a young boy claim a bully sent their 8-year-old son to the hospital and doctors were fighting to save the his leg after an injury at the elementary school. According to his family, the young student got up to look at the whiteboard and the bully, who was not identified due to his age, reportedly placed a pencil standing up, which the student kneeled directly onto. The pencil penetrated to the knee bone, fracturing it and leaving a bacterial infection under the muscle, the boy’s mom reportedly said. It happened in the 1500 block of W. 14th St. Davenport Fire Department crews responded to a report of a residential structure fire.
