Cedar Rapids – According to the police officials, this unfortunate incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. It happened in the 100 block of 14th Street NW in Cedar Rapids. Cedar Rapids Police Department officers responded to a report of stabbing. When the officers arrived on scene, they found a victim suffering from severe stab wounds. Davenport, IA – According to the statement, this unfortunate incident occurred right before 1 p.m. Tuesday.  It happened in the 1200 block of North Perry Street in Davenport. Davenport Fire Department crews responded to a report of a structure fire. When the crews arrived on scene, they found a two-and-half-story duplex with heavy smoke and flames. Davenport, IA – According to the police officials, this unfortunate incident occurred right before 7 p.m. Tuesday. It happened on West Locust Street and Elsie Avenue in Davenport. Davenport Police Department officers responded to a report of pedestrian hit by vehicle. Police say Ford Escape was traveling east in the right lane of Locust Street, when a 12-year-old pedestrian ran south from Elsie Avenue across Locust Street. Police say the 12-year-old suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. This incident is under investigation. This unfortunate incident occurred right before 1 p.m. Saturday in rural Scott County. Police say the UTV was being driven by her boyfriend, Keegan Loveless. He was going about 30 mph when he took a sharp turn and flipped the vehicle. The 25-year-old victim was thrown from the UTV and it landed on top of her. Davenport, IA – According to the court documents, his name is Christopher Michael Screechfield and he was sentenced on a charge of felon in possession of ammunition. The 23-year-old man was also ordered to serve 3 years of supervised release after his prison term. When the 23-year-old man was taken into custody, he had three bullets in his possession. In April 20, he pleaded guilty to the charge. According to the court documents, a state judge has ruled that a man charged with murdering his 2-year-old daughter is mentally competent to stand trial. The 45-year-old defendant allegedly allowed the little girl to die of malnutrition. The judge’s ruling was based in large part on the report created by a mental health professional who conducted a psychiatric evaluation on the defendant.
