IOWA – According to the police officials, her name is Mary Vry and she died at the scene. This unfortunate incident occurred right after 9 a.m. Thursday. It happened on Ridge Avenue, northeast of Parkersburg. Authorities say the 82-year-old woman was driving behind a semi and as the semi start to slow to make a left hand turn onto 300th Street, she wasn’t able to slow down. The 82-year-old woman hit the semi and her vehicle then rolled before stopping in the ditch. She was not wearing her seatbelt, police say. The driver of the semi was not injured in the crash.

Police have confirmed that Mercedes, the missing 11-month-old who was last seen on Saturday in Indiana, has been found dead. According to reports, the 37-year-old man who was watching her at the time has been charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in death. Court documents state that the 11-month-old’s parents, Tiffany Coburn and Kenneth Lain, dropped her off to spend the weekend with Justin Lee Miller, a family friend. Each charge is a Class C felony under Iowa law that carries a prison sentence of 10 years. Police say the 48-year-old man also is charged with two counts of violating Iowa’s drug tax stamp law.
