Davenport, IA – According to the health officials, that’s because older patients were prioritized in vaccine rollouts, so less of them are being hospitalized. While the proportion of younger patients in the hospital is higher, the absolute number of younger patients in the hospital is pretty stable. The shift to younger hospitalization is more relative than real. The officials urge those vaccinated and unvaccinated to continue wearing masks, washing their hands, and keeping their distance.

Davenport, IA – According to the statement, the Community Health Care’s vaccine clinic was originally scheduled to administer more than 200 Johnson & Johnson doses. But, the healthcare provider made the switch to the Moderna vaccine.  Community Health Care officials say only a few people didn’t keep their appointment today. The pause on the Johnson & Johnson shots applies to Federal Health Channels, like mass vaccination sites and community health centers.

IOWA – According to the statement, these two Cedar Rapids hospitals will be lifting some visitor restrictions. Visitors will have to follow screening procedures and cannot have any respiratory symptoms or known exposure to COVID-19. The visitors must also wear a mask at all times during their visit. BirthCare patients may have up to two visitors at a time: one support person and one visitor. NICU patients may have one birth parent, plus one significant other. No visitors in the behavioral health units and no children visiting under the age of 16.

IOWA – According to the officials, the two schools with the most confirmed cases and students in quarantine are Northwest Junior High and City High School. More than 41,000 people now fully vaccinated in Johnson County. But, unfortunately, the number of COVID cases among younger people has become a cause for concern. In the last seven days, people ages 18-to-29 have accounted for the largest percentage of new positive cases in Iowa. Statewide, that age group accounts for 26% of new positive tests.
