Davenport, IOWA – According to the court documents, a Lake County judge sentenced the 25-year-old Dontrall Jer’i Phillips of Davenport. The judge accepted the guilty plea to a murder charge under a plea agreement that calls for prosecutors to drop a robbery charge. Phillips was one of four people charged in the April 2015 shooting death of 21-year-old Donald Fuzzell of Calumet Park, Illinois, during a botched robbery in the parking lot of a Gary gas station.

About three months after the bodies of a mother and her 2-year-old son were found inside their New Hampshire condo, officials have now confirmed that they both died in a tragic murder-suicide. Davenport, IA – According to the statement, the state’s Workforce Development department reported the rate was down from a revised 3.7% rate for December. Compared to a 2.8% rate a year ago, before the coronavirus pandemic resulted in a severe economic slowdown. The state added 8,200 workers in January. There were 57,400 unemployed residents. The national unemployment rate for January was 6.3%.

A total of 1,105,700 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Iowa. A total of 161 people in Iowa are in the hospital with the virus, with 26 people having been admitted in the last 24 hours. There are currently 42 patients in the ICU and 21 on ventilators. 1,221 individuals were tested for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. Both Resiliency projects are funded by CARES funding through the Community Development Block Grant program.
