IOWA – Unfortunately, the Iowa Department of Public Health also reported 43 additional deaths. The health department reported 330,436 total positive cases, 305,271 total recoveries and 5,306 total deaths since the start of the pandemic. 496,981 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Iowa, with 125,558 individuals receiving both doses. The number of Iowans hospitalized with the virus dropped from 255 to 235. The state reports 52 patients in ICU and 20 patients on ventilators.

Davenport, IA – His name is David Michael Woods, 48-year-old. According to the officials, he allegedly committed sexual abuse against a 12-year-old. The abuse reportedly happened multiple times between November 2020 and January 2021. The suspect was booked into the Scott County Jail at 2:17 p.m. Tuesday. The 48-year-old man was released at 6:26 p.m. after posting a $50,000 cash-only bond. Third-degree sexual abuse is a Class C felony under Iowa law that carries a prison sentence of 10 years.

Davenport, IA – According to the police officials, the officers responded to a welfare check in the 1400 block of Main Street. When the officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with life threatening injuries and was later airlifted to Iowa City for further treatment. The suspect, Vincent Brocato, local resident, is being charged with attempted murder, felon in possession of a firearm and domestic assault with a weapon. Davenport, IA – Davenport Police Department officers responded to a call at the PR Masonry Apartments in Davenport. When they arrived at the scene, the officers found the body of 77-year-old Dianna Rupp inside one of the units. The police officials have not said how she died. Police on the scene arrested Rupp’s son, 53-year-old Andrew Rupp. According to the police report, he was initially charged with interference of official acts and drug possession. He was later charged with first-degree murder.

An unprecedented winter storm barreled through parts of the South, leaving millions without power in Texas and parts of Louisiana covered in snow and ice. As a result of the storm, residents across the state of Texas have been without power for hours, some going on more than a day. Davenport, IA – Unfortunately, the Iowa Department of Public Health also reported 26 additional COVID-19 related deaths. There were 329,812 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Iowa, and 364,150 people in Iowa had received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. There are now more Iowans who have received their first vaccination against COVID-19 than have been confirmed to have had the disease. With the expansion of priority groups in Iowa, more people are eligible to get COVID-19 vaccinations, including all Iowans age 65 or older, and people in certain professions.

IOWA – According to the police report, Wright County deputies responded to a call at 5:42 a.m. to the Prestage Foods plant near Eagle Grove for a report of a stabbing. When the deputies arrived at the scene, they found a dead person in an employee locker room and then identified a suspect, who was taken into custody.
