Brent Reighard wants to continue to make sleighs and bring them to nurses his holiday season. However, the funds to make more sleighs is not there. DAVENPORT, IOWA – Davenport police arrested a man in connection with a shooting incident at NorthPark Mall. Isaiah Jeremiah Randolph, 18, of 1701 Iowa Dr., LeClaire, is charged with one count of interference with official acts with a firearm, a Class D felony under Iowa law that carries a prison sentence of five years. Randolph, who was arrested several hours after the incident Sunday at the mall, also is charged with one count of carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor that carries a prison sentence of two years. DAVENPORT, IOWA – It was another terrible COVID-19 week in the Quad-Cities. And the effects of Thanksgiving haven’t even truly surfaced yet. A total of 37 people died from Sunday through Friday, 29 of them in Rock Island County. Rock Island and Scott counties are also approaching a total of 21,000 positive cases since the pandemic began. Scott County reported two more COVID-19 deaths Friday and 131 more positive tests. Rock Island County results were not available. DAVENPORT, Iowa — Scott County’s Test Iowa site has slightly changed its location in preparation for the upcoming colder season. After the closing hours on Thursday, October 29, officials moved the COVID-19 testing site from the Northpark Mall parking lot to the inside of the fromer Sears Auto Center building at the same location. The site then reopened at 8 a.m. on Friday, October 30. Additionally, beginning Monday, November 2, the site’s operating hours will change due to daylight savings time. DAVENPORT, IOWA – After a vehicle was stolen from a Davenport repair shop, a 28-year-old Davenport woman was in custody Wednesday. Sarah Cahill faces felony charges of first- and second-degree theft, and two misdemeanor charges of fifth-degree theft. She was being held on a total bond of $10,000 in Scott County Jail. On April 13, the arrest affidavit says, Cahill stole a vehicle parked at Dale’s Service Center, 3830 W. Locust St. The owner had dropped off the vehicle for service and the keys were inside. DAVENPORT, IOWA – Davenport’s Main Street Library will close for a $1.6 million renovation from Dec. 28 into March 2021. Built in 1968, the Main Library needs an update to meet the research and media needs of today’s patrons, library director Amy Groskopf previously said. DAVENPORT, IOWA – The trial for the man accused of killing University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts has been delayed again because of COVID-19. Christian Bahena Rivera is accused of stabbing Tibbetts to death in June 2018. The trial date has been rescheduled to May 17 in Davenport, with a pretrial conference set for April 15. This is the third time the trial has been delayed. Originally set for Feb. 4, the trial was rescheduled in April to Sept. 29 after Bahena Rivera’s lawyers appealed regarding an evidence-suppression motion, claiming Rivera was given an incomplete reading of his Miranda rights.
