Davenport, IOWA – According to the state officials, the Border Strike Force will facilitate the sharing of intelligence information across state lines to improve border enforcement. According to Gov. Reynolds, information from criminal investigations across the nation will be shared to help combat drug trafficking, human smuggling and the prevalence of cartels and other drug organizations infiltrating the U.S. from the border.  State participation in the Border Strike Force requires no taxpayer funds or enforcement personnel, officials said. The 2-year-old baby, who was diagnosed with fetal growth restriction while still in the womb, spent the first 2 years of her life in a hospital fighting for her life. The baby’s doctor said that letting the little girl grow in the PICU under the care of her nurses and medical team helped with her breathing episodes, as her lungs continued to develop. The doctor also said that the physical therapy helped with her muscle rigidity and her lungs seemed to improve as her muscles strengthened. Des Moines County, IOWA – Iowa State Patrol officials said the fatal accident occurred right before 9 p.m. Monday night. It happened on Highway 34. Iowa State Patrol troopers responded to a report of a crash. The responding troopers discovered that the 24-year-old driver of Ford Escape was driving east on Highway 34 when the 18-year-old pedestrian ran in front of the vehicle and was struck. Troopers said the unidentified pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to  a hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. The victim’s identity has not yet been released. Cedar Rapids, IOWA – According to the statement, the 29-year-old suspect was arrested and taken into custody on Monday. His name is Dimione Walker and he was wanted in connection to the April 10 shooting at the Taboo Night Club that left two people dead and 10 others injured, officials said. The 29-year-old suspect is now facing multiple charges, including: first-degree murder, intimidation with a dangerous weapon, going armed with intent and felon in possession of a firearm. Dallas County, IOWA – According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, this incident occurred  on Sunday. It happened at 22760 Laredo Trail in rural Adel. Right before 8 p.m. Sunday, the 911 caller told the dispatcher that someone poured gasoline inside the house and lit it on fire. Minburn Fire Department crews and the Dallas County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene. The house sustained significant damage from the fire.
