Davenport, IOWA – Police officials said the 34-year-old victim, Dimitri Martin, died from injuries on Monday. The shooting occurred right before 1 a.m. early Friday morning. Officers responded to the area of Third and Ripley Streets in reference to a call of shots fired. The 34-year-old man was transported by Medic EMS to a local hospital. The Davenport Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in locating an involved vehicle along with any associated individuals. Davenport, IOWA – According to the city officials, Mayor Matson presented the Mayor’s Community Excellence Award to Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities. City officials also said that the Habitat QC has served low-income families in Scott and Rock Island Counties for three decades by bringing people together to build, rehabilitate, and maintain safe and affordable homes. Davenport, IOWA – According to the court documents, the defendants 26-year-old Najawaun Quinn and 30-year-old Dimetri Smith were convicted on Wednesday. Linn County, IOWA – According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred right after 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon. It happened on Highway 13 just north of Martin Creek Rd. Linn County Sheriff’s deputies, Linn County Sheriff’s Rescue 57, Area Ambulance and Marion Fire Department crews responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash. Davenport, IOWA – According to the state officials, in 2018, the legislature passed and Governor Reynolds signed a law outlawing abortion at six weeks, when the baby’s heartbeat can first be detected. A Polk County district court judge enjoined that law, prohibiting Iowa officials from enforcing it, based upon the Iowa Supreme Court’s 2018 ruling in PPH II where the Court erroneously created a fundamental right to abortion. Because the Iowa Supreme Court has now overruled that 2018 ruling and rejected the “strict scrutiny” standard it adopted, Gov.
