Clinton County, IOWA – According to the Iowa State Patrol, the fatal accident occurred around 4:51 p.m. Wednesday. It happened on Highway 136. Iowa State Patrol troopers responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash. The responding troopers discovered that a vehicle headed west on Highway 136 collided head-on with a minivan headed east on the same highway. The responding troopers said that the drivers of both vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in the minivan also died. The 22-year-old woman lured the male victim, whom she met on social media, to her home  where she and three other men proceeded to torture the man and hold him hostage, while demanding the victim’s family pay a $100,000 ransom for his release. The unsuspecting 24-year-old man was tied up and burned while his kidnappers forced him to call his family to come up with $100,000 in ransom money to secure his release. Davenport, IOWA – Davenport Police Department officials said this incident occurred right before 11 p.m. late Saturday night. It happened at a bar on W 3rd St. An off-duty officer reportedly said the 19-year-old suspect showed a handgun from his waistband. He was later identified as Kaedyn Kruse. The responding officers made contact with the suspect, who attempted to run away. When they tried to take him into custody, he reportedly tried several times to reach for his waist band where his gun was. City officials have announced that the revised plan has Heuer Construction, Inc., starting work either Monday or Tuesday on Mississippi Drive between Linn and Broadway. Cedar Rapids Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. When the officers arrived on scene, they found one victim. Howard County, IOWA – According to the Iowa State Patrol, the fatal accident occurred right before 11 p.m. late Saturday night. It happened on Willow Avenue. Iowa State Patrol troopers responded to a report of a crash. The responding troopers discovered that the 18-year-old driver of Pontiac G6 lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway. The vehicle then rolled over and ejected the driver. The 18-year-old driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead. He was later identified as Alex Hanson. Iowa City, IOWA – According to the court documents, the 23-year-old defendant pleaded guilty in Friday. His name is Sammy Hamed and he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Prosecutors said the 23-year-old defendant was initially charged with first-degree murder in the Feb. 12, 2021 death of Quincy Russom. The defendant reportedly shot the 19-year-old victim during a robbery. Prosecutors said the defendant was one of several individuals inside the apartment when the 19-year-old victim was shot.
