Fort Dodge, IOWA – FDPD officials said this incident occurred right after 2 a.m. early Tuesday morning. It happened near 205 S. 20th St.  Fort Dodge Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. The responding officers reportedly discovered that several shots had pierced the walls. No injuries were reported, officials said. The responding officers also found evidence of shots fired in the 1900 block of 2nd Avenue South. There was no additional damage in that area, they said. Davenport, IOWA – According to the Davenport Police Department the shooting occurred right after 1 p.m. Friday. It happened in the 3900 block of N Eloise Avenue. Davenport Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. When the officers arrived on scene, they found one adult male victim. Police said the 34-year-old man suffered not life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The responding officers reportedly found a house damaged by gunfire. Wayne County, IOWA – According to the Iowa State Patrol, the fatal accident occurred around 8:22 a.m. Friday morning. It happened on Highway 14. Iowa State Patrol troopers responded to a report of a crash. The responding troopers discovered that the 44-year-old man was driving northbound when his vehicle swerved in front of an oncoming tractor-trailer. According to ISP, the driver of the tractor-trailer tried to avoid the vehicle but was unable. The tractor-trailer and the vehicle collided head on. It happened at Chuck’s Tap located at 1731 W. 6th St. Davenport Fire Department crews responded to a report of a structure fire. The responding crews saw smoke and flames coming from the second floor of the structure. They were able to quickly extinguish the fire. Cedar Rapids, IOWA – Cedar Rapids Police Department officials said the robbery occurred around 6:41 p.m. Saturday. It happened at a Cedar Rapids BP on Old Marion Road Northeast. Cedar Rapids Police Department officers responded to a report of an armed robbery. The responding officers discovered that the unidentified suspect entered the store and stole multiple items. Davenport, IOWA – Police officials said that both suspects were arrested and taken into custody on Saturday. Monchay Russell, 22, and Leroy Owens, 58, are now facing multiple charges: second-degree burglary and second-degree arson. The charges stem from a January 5 incident during which both suspects reportedly forced entry into the garage and intentionally set the vehicle on fire. Authorities said this caused more than $750 of damage to the vehicle. Neither man owned the garage or the vehicle. A preliminary hearing for Russell is set for Feb. 22, court records say. She reportedly went to the bank to open an account and deposit a check from her new job. Linn County, IOWA – According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, this incident occurred around 12:53 p.m. Thursday. It happened at 2586 Springville Rd. Linn County firefighters responded to a report of a barn fire. The responding crews discovered that the fire had spread from the barn to some farm equipment and a nearby car.  They were able to quickly extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported from the fire and no livestock or people were inside the barn, LCSO said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
