Dear Iowans, officials said that the COVID-19 testing kits are available on a first-come, first-serve basis from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Davenport, IOWA – According to the court documents, his name is Mark Blackwood and he was found not guilty of homicide in the death of a man he hit and dragged under his vehicle. But, the 64-year-old defendant was found guilty of leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death. The defendant reportedly told prosecutors that he knew he hit the victim, but did not prove he knew the victim was under the car when he kept driving. Cedar Rapids, IOWA – According to the Cedar Rapids Fire Department, this unfortunate incident occurred right after 10 p.m. Tuesday. It happened at the Johnson Gas Appliance Company located at E Avenue NW and Ellis Boulevard NW. Cedar Rapids Fire Department crews responded to a report of a building fire. The responding crews discovered that the blaze burned through and collapsed a large section of the roof. Authorities said the 35-year-old suspect faces two felony charges of second-degree criminal mischief. This incident occurred right before 1 a.m. early Sunday morning. Davenport, IOWA – According to the Davenport Fire Department, this unfortunate incident occurred right after 3 a.m. early Sunday morning. It happened in the 3400 block of N. Elmwood. Davenport Fire Department crews responded to a report of a house fire. The responding crews discovered that the roof was on fire near the chimney. They were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.
