Fort Dodge, IOWA – According to the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, this unfortunate accident occurred Thursday morning.  It happened at 120th Street near U.S. Highway 69 north of Fort Dodge. Webster County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a crash. The driver of Chrysler Aspen left the road and struck a utility pole. The driver suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as Jeremy Bruns. This incident remains under investigation. Davenport, IOWA – According to the Davenport Police Department, his name is Jacob Nathaniel Forward and he was booked into the Scott County Jail on charges of willful injury causing serious injury and assault while displaying a dangerous weapon. This unfortunate incident occurred right after 12 a.m. early Thursday morning. It happened at a home on Appomattox Road. Authorities say the 32-year-old suspect stabbed the victim 5 times in the back. The victim had severe blood loss and a collapsed lung, police say. According to the court documents, the 48-year-old woman was sentenced to life in prison without parole for her role in helping her husband viciously murder his pregnant ex-wife, her unborn child, her mother, and two young children back in 2015. Prosecutors say the 48-year-old defendant avoided the death penalty after reaching a deal. The woman admitted to helping plan and carry out the gruesome attack. A woman who ran an illegal daycare where 26 children were found hiding in her basement behind a false wall has been jailed for six years. She was sentenced on Thursday, October 21, 2021 to six years in prison for attempting to influence a public servant. She was also given concurrent 10-month sentences for each of the 26 counts of child abuse. Many of the children were found sweaty, hungry, and wearing dirty diapers when officers and licensing specialists entered her property. It was a series of events that no one could have predicted. Law enforcement authorities visited the man shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday to serve a warrant and conduct lawn maintenance due to high grass and weeds. Dubuque, IOWA – According to the Dubuque Police Department, this unfortunate incident occurred right before 8 p.m. Thursday. It happened in the 400 block of Angella Street. Dubuque Police Department officers responded to a report of a disturbance. The responding officers found two juvenile victims suffering from stab wounds. Police say the 14-year-old girls suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment. Police say a 13-year-old suspect was arrested and taken into custody. Davenport, IOWA – According to the state officials, this bill was made public minutes before lawmakers were to begin a special session that was convened to address redistricting. Officials say that the new bill requires businesses to allow medical and religious exemptions for COVID-19 vaccine mandates and guarantees that employees who are fired for deciding not to get vaccinated for COVID-19 are eligible for unemployment insurance.
