The 33-year-old dad has reportedly died after doctors say his second COVID-19 vaccine caused an immune response that led to the development of an autoimmune disease. The man had no prior medical history and the doctors have reportedly agreed that the COVID vaccine caused an immune response that led to the development of the autoimmune disease and HLH, his wife said.
The father from Louisiana, Brandon Pollet, was reportedly diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that developed within hours of his second dose of his COVID-19 vaccine.
His wife, Dr. Jessica Pollet, reportedly said that her husband was healthy before the vaccine.
Dr. Jessica Pollet said: “Brandon had no prior medical history. After his second Pfizer vaccine, Brandon developed a headache right away then fever 48 hours after.”
According to reports, his initial hospitalization over the vaccine reaction was from October 21st, 2021 through November 7th, 2021.
His wife says Brandon was originally diagnosed with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, or HLH, but that was eventually ruled out. Then his diagnosis was switched to a rare autoimmune disease called Still’s Disease.
Unfortunately, the 33-year-old dad returned to the hospital in December and he was once again diagnosed with HLH. The doctors said that this time it was in addition to Still’s Disease.
Brandon reportedly received treatments for HLH, including chemotherapy, but those treatments did not work.
According to Dr. Pollet, Brandon’s doctors had come to a consensus that the COVID-19 vaccine brought on the development of the autoimmune disease and HLH.
Dr. Jessica Pollet reportedly said: “He received the HLH protocol treatment, which included chemotherapy. Unfortunately, none of the usual treatments have worked. The doctors have agreed that the COVID vaccine caused an immune response that led to the development of the autoimmune disease and HLH.”
Unfortunately, the 33-year-old dad lost his fight on January 28th, 2022, after battling for months.
Brandond is survived by his wife, and their 1-year-old daughter Madison. His parents Randy and Yvonne Pollet, and his siblings.
Dr. Jessica Pollet also said: “The community has organized blood drives and a GoFundMe account to support Brandon and to help us pay medical bills. We ask for your thoughts and prayers.”
The GoFundMe Page for Brandon Pollet has raised over $43,000 for the family.
