Des Moines, IOWA – According to the Des Moines Police Department, this incident occurred right after 2 p.m. Friday afternoon.
It happened in the 2300 block of University Ave.
Des Moines Police Department officers responded to a report of an armed robbery.
The responding officers discovered that two of four suspects were reportedly armed with handguns.
The victim was able to provide 3rd Watch patrol officers with a detailed description of the suspects and their getaway vehicle.
A short time later, the suspect’s vehicle was spotted and officer began to approach the vehicle.
The vehicle was later found, crashed, at 29th & Cottage Grove.
One suspect was taken into custody almost immediately.
By 3:17 p.m., all four suspects were in custody, and two handguns were recovered.
